Frequently asked questions

Why should we hire you?

Because we understand that weddings are a beautiful celebration of love and joy. Big or small they hold in one day the complexities of a relationship’s past as well as its future, who you were, who you are, and who you will be together. Most importantly, this day serves as the birthplace of two people coming together as one. We love telling stories, and just like we did for all our other couples, we want to freeze the moments of love, passion, spark, joy, and intimacy that you find in each other.

Booking Process

We have tried our best to cover any questions you may have about our booking process. In case we missed your question feel free to contact us.

It is true that wedding photography can become a costly affair. But there are justifiable reasons as to why. Let us try to explain. We find that often couples underestimated the amount of time that is invested not only on the wedding day but also on the post-production. On average we spend in excess of 50-70 hours on the entire wedding process, including the album design and changes. Never mind the cost of the equipment as well as the regular maintenance we have to do on it to ensure that it is running 100% correct.

We also keep backups of all images, be it on hard drives or online servers. Taking into account the number of images we capture a day, backing these up can be quite costly. how far in advance do I need to reserve my date? Our best advice is to reserve your date as soon as you know that you would want us to capture the most important day in your lives. With limited availability, certain dates book up very far in advance, and usually couples book out their dates 6 to 12months in advance.

The images that you see on our website, social media, and our blog are all our favourite images taken at real-life weddings around the world. I always push myself to provide consistent results and believe all my wedding images look like that – this is one of the benefits of hiring an experienced professional wedding photographer. During our meeting, I would be happy to show album samples from full weddings.
Absolutely! We love to travel and experience new venues, cities, states, and countries. It keeps us inspired and bursting with creativity. We have already knocked a few countries off our list. All our destination wedding collections include travel to and from your destination. And if you are up to it, we can include a full day after the wedding where we will capture you in your wedding attire at some of the most amazing locations at your chosen destination.
Perhaps! There are thousands of wedding venues, but if we haven’t shot at your particular venue, no worries at all. We’ll always scout the best locations for portraits, bridal party shots, and sunset photos beforehand.
For most of our couples, 8 hours of coverage is a perfect starting point. This typically covers the getting ready shots all the way through to about 3 hours of your reception. Sometimes there are reasons to add more coverage. If you are having a longer religious ceremony, for example, or if there are long travel times between venues. We can discuss these details and let you know what we think will be the best fit for you when we initially meet.
While it is not necessary to have us at the rehearsal to ensure a flawless wedding day, we can attend any additional wedding celebrations (showers, engagement parties, rehearsals) for an additional hourly charge.
Hours of coverage are continuous. We often use this time to capture portraits, as well as detail shots.
A first look happens when the couple sees each other for the first time before the ceremony begins. By doing this you allow us more time at the beginning of the day to capture most, if not all of your couple’s portraits before the ceremony. This allows our couples to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests and avoids the guests from waiting too long. We understand that this is such a personal choice and completely understand if you prefer having a more traditional down-the-aisle reveal. Whichever you choose, we will be sure to help you make a wedding day timeline that best suits your preference.
Typically, on any given wedding day, we shoot anything from 1000 to 3500 images, depending on how many hours you have booked for, how big your wedding is, and how many photographers we are. A lot of the time, we are testing lighting, or changing camera settings, or shooting multiple images per second to ensure that eyes are all open during guest posing. We invest hours into sorting through all these images, to ensure that we have made our best selection of 500 to 800 images that will tell a complete story of your day.
We love to spend time perfecting your wedding art pieces. Every single image that we will deliver to you has been retouched to ensure that you receive high-quality images that mirror our excellent standard that can be seen on our portfolios and blog.
We love classic black & white images. Sometimes certain moments and emotions lend themselves to a beautiful B&W image. Don’t worry – we will also send along the colour copy of every B&W as well.
We use professional Canon camera equipment. We also have backup equipment with us on a wedding day to ensure we don’t miss a beat if there is an equipment mishap.
Well, it all depends on what kind of coverage you are looking for and what you feel to be sufficient. Usually, one photographer is enough to capture all those important moments in highlight form. A second photographer becomes necessary if you would like to have a different aspect/take on your day. For example, while one photographer focuses on the father of the bride’s speech during the reception, the other one can focus on capturing the reactions of both the couple as well as the guest’s reactions. Thus creating a more compelling story of your day. Another important moment where two photographers are recommended is when you and your soon-to-be husband are both getting ready at the same time, in separate locations that are not within a 10-minute drive from each other. The one photographer will focus on capturing the bride, her bridesmaids and her getting ready, while the other one will focus on the groom and his groomsmen getting ready. As a general rule, the main photographer will capture all the highlights, details, and candid type images that freeze the moment. The second photographer’s role will be to capture the guests as well as formal photographs like family/table groupings. This kind of breakdown means you’ll end up with an amazing collection of different types of images.
We are living in the world of smartphones and we are totally fine with it. Ideally, guests just need to make sure they don’t cause any form of disruption on your wedding day, or hinder our ability to capture your special memories. What we mean by this, is that we are happy if they wonder about taking images without preventing us from missing any shots.
We have been shooting weddings for 13 years and have not missed one yet, nor do we plan to. You have placed your trust in us and we keep that trust in the highest regard. If there were an emergency where we could not be there, we would send an equally talented replacement to photograph the event, and still edit the photographs as if we had attended this. A scenario like this will only take place in an absolute emergency.
Oh.. the dreaded word on a wedding day. Sometimes mother nature has plans other than 25 degrees and sunny. If that is the case, we will be sure to be in contact with you in the days leading up to the wedding so we can ensure we have a plan B prepared. A little rain has never stopped us before from producing beautiful wedding day images.
We pride ourselves on dressing like a guest and blending into your wedding day. First impressions matter, so you won’t find us dressing in jeans with sneakers on.
We understand how devasting it can be to lose images. In fact, it was an event like this that made us move over to digital in the first place. Years back we attended an International Motorcross Championship when we were still using film cameras. It was an unpaid event that we were really passionate about. When it came down to developing the images the reel of film tore into pieces. We lost all the images without any fault on our part. Since then we have moved over to digital and have tried every effort to ensure the safety of our digital files. We meticulously back up images when we get home from an event and always ensure we back up the images, not in one location, but also to a secondary location off-site location. You can rest assured that we do every effort on our part to protect all of your images.

Well, that’s awesome! Let us know as soon as possible all your wedding details and we’ll start generating your wedding contract. You can do so either telephonically or via email.
Wedding dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Although we cannot reserve a wedding date without a contract and retainer, we will be happy to let you know if any other couples inquire about the same date.
A signed contract and a 50% retainer are required to save your date. All of this can be completed online and over email.
Yes. We love to travel, but we can’t afford to do that without charging extra. Depending on the time and distance, this may include a small “per km” rate, or even as much as a few nights in a hotel and/or flights. It really comes down to what you want, where, and when. The really great news is that, by hiring us, you get a great price on exporting high quality to incredible places around the world. Travel fees also apply to weddings that take place outside of Zurich City.
On booking, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 1 week before your wedding day.
We are so fortunate to be at a place of our business where we are able to fully book to our capacity each wedding season. For this reason, we do not offer a discount for wedding collections. We do however offer hourly coverage for city hall elopements. Contact Us for details.
Once you have signed the contract and paid your 50% deposit, we will book the date for you only and will not accept other events for that day. For this reason, your deposit is non-refundable.
Sometimes we’ll book more than one wedding on a weekend, but never more than one event per photographer per day. An exception to this is given to short 2 hour civil weddings where we can shoot up to 3 or 4 each day.
We understand that not all weddings run according to the planned schedule. In this case, if we are available, we will gladly stay a few extra hours to ensure that you have complete coverage of your wedding day. An invoice will be sent to you after the wedding for the additional hourly rate as stated in your contract. We request any overtime invoices be paid before the final delivery of images.

After the wedding

This section will answer any questions you may have about the delivery of your final images. In case we missed your question feel free to contact us.

Our typical turnaround for the delivery of your wedding images is anything from 6 to 8 weeks. You are probably wondering why it takes that long. Let us explain… In an effort to master the quality of images we deliver, we take charge of the entire production processes ourselves. As a result, we personally sort through and edit each and every photograph that we deliver. We fix certain imperfections and colors. We adjust what’s needed to make sure the images not only look amazing but offer the same sort of consistency throughout. Engagement photographs take a lot less time, usually around 2 weeks. This is because we provide fewer images, so the entire process goes a lot faster.
Yes! We have started implementing an express service that will allow you to receive your wedding images sooner. At an additional cost, of course. And although we are providing them to you sooner, it doesn’t mean that we are compromising on the final quality, it just means that we would gladly work throughout the evenings, to deliver them to you as quickly as possible. The additional cost compensates us for working in the evenings. Contact us if you are looking for just a few sneak peeks, or would like to have all your images delivered within a min of 1 week.
After your engagement session or wedding, your high-resolution images will be delivered via our private Shootproof online gallery. These images can be downloaded, saved, printed, and shared. All of your friends and family that you share the gallery link with will also have the same privileges. In some cases we provide email address access, to restrict the number of downloads you allow your guests.
Although we take tons of images during a wedding day, we narrow these down to 500 to 700 “best of the days” depending on the package you booked.
On booking, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your wedding.
Yes! We love to see our couples flaunt their wedding photos as artworks in their homes. Ordering prints is easy. In fact, you can order these right from your online gallery. Your gallery is tied to our favorite professional print lab! This way we know our print lab will provide you with the best quality print products. Prints, canvases, albums, etc can all be ordered online. Friends and family can also order prints and have them shipped directly to their houses.
If you have chosen to add an album to your wedding collection, congratulations! Besides your wedding rings, you are creating one of your first family heirlooms to be passed down for generations to come. After your wedding images have been delivered, we will begin designing your album all the way from the front to the back cover and every page in between. We will then provide you with a link to review. During the review period, you will be able to make basic swop outs of images, as long as the original design doesn’t change. We include 2 rounds of revisions in your album design. If you would like to request further changes we would gladly do so at an additional fee. Once you are happy with your final revision, we will discuss available upgrade options for size and cover type. As well as if you would like to add additional parent albums to your order. Once your order has been finalized – it goes off to print. Our album company will return your finished product in approximately 9-12 weeks. Then we schedule a time to meet so we can deliver your beautiful family heirloom.
We normally choose between 100 to 120 pictures for a standard 30-page album. However, if you need more than 120 images, it may be advisable to increase the number of album pages. If we have a hard time cutting down all your amazing images, we will provide recommendations on whether or not we think you would require additional pages.
