Flamingo Beach, Aruba
Ever wondered what it would be like to swim with Flamingos in the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean?

Sounds like a postcard scene right? 24km off the coast of Venezuela you can experience the flamingo beach at the Renaissance Island in Aruba.

This 40 acres secluded island is privately owned by the four-star Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino. Guests of the resort have free access to the Island, which is open daily between 7 am to 7 pm. Day permits can be obtained for those not staying at the resort, although I highly recommend staying here. The Island can be reached by an 8 min water taxi transfer from the Renaissance Marina or Renaissance Ocean Suites

This quint beach offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Ocean, where graceful flamingos decorate the white sands in orange and pink hues. This adult-only beach offers a romantic getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist parts of Aruba.

Aruba’s tourism slogan assured us that this would be “one happy place”, and sure enough, this private slice of heaven lived up to it.

Spend the day basking in the warmth of the Caribbean sun on the lounge chairs provided to you free of charge by the resort

The sound of the waves and the winds briskly breezing through the palm trees is your only soundtrack as you sip on your Pina Colada cocktails brought to you by the waiters of the Papagayo Bar and Grill.

For lunch, I opted for a healthy meal option and tried out their green Iguana-themed wraps. Despite the color being a turnoff, the wraps were tasty and rather filling and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a full experience.

I tried out the Balashi Chill beer – Aruba’s typical Island flavor while lounging around the ocean on my lilo. This pale barley malt with a subtle aroma will ensure your thirst buds are quenched.

There is not that much to do in this tropical paradise except relax by soaking in the 84°F turquoise water, lounging around on hammocks and letting the sun caress you, or spoiling yourself at the private outdoor Spa Cove overlooks the ocean.

I found myself uttering the words on numerous occasions “This is Heaven on earth”. At least for the 24 hours, I spent there.

Here are some more images that sum up my overall experience:
